CTRL 2024 iBomma: Box Office Collection, Release Date, Review
Vikramaditya Motwane's cyber-thriller CTRL, starring Ananya Panday in the lead role, is coming to Netflix, the streaming service announced on Monday. Produced by Saffron and Movement Films and helmed by Vihaan Samat, the film will start streaming on the platform from October 4.
According to the makers, CTRL is a cutting-edge thriller that will make you rethink your dependence on technology. In the film, Pandey and Samat play Naila Awasthi and Joe Mascarenhas, respectively, a romantic couple who create content together and are loved by their internet audience.
“But what happens when they are separated? In a world where data is power, how much sharing is too much? How much of your life do you want to share and do you slowly lose control in the process?” the official synopsis reads.
Vikramaditya Motwane, known for Udaan, Lootera and Trapped, said with the amount of time people spend on their devices, screen time is now being redefined as screen life.
“The question is, do we really have control over all the digital extensions of our lives or are we being controlled? That is the answer that CTRL is attempting to explore. For such a modern concept, we not only needed actors to live that life but also needed a medium like Netflix to be relevant,” Motwane said in a statement.
Ananya Panday called CTRL an “engaging and impactful” film.
“Given the rapid advancement of technology and our increasing dependence on it, I truly believe this film is for everyone. What better platform than Netflix to reach out to audiences with a compelling story like CTRL?,” the Kho Gaye Hum Kahan actor added.
Producer Nikhil Dwivedi said the film presents a "thought-provoking narrative" in a unique format which will be visible in every frame of this film.
