Meiyazhagan 2024 iBomma: Box Office Collection, Release Date, Review

Arvind Swamy is known for his good looks and fair complexion. His character appears to be the opposite of Karthi's character, who is dark-skinned but apparently has a child-like heart.
Meiyazhagan is written and directed by C. Prem Kumar. The cinematographer-turned-filmmaker made his directorial debut with 96 in 2018. The romantic drama, which starred Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha in the lead roles, emerged as a critical and commercial success.
Looking at the first poster, it looks like Prem will tell a different love story. It is safe to assume that it will likely take place in a rural context and revolve around two close friends.
Meiyazhagan is bankrolled by Tamil superstar Suriya and his wife Jyothika. Sharing the first poster, Suriya captioned, "One of our hearts...".
Career-wise, Karthi was last seen in Japan. The film released in 2023 to poor reviews and later failed at the box office. The film ended Karthi's winning streak, which was boosted by back-to-back hits of Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 2, Virumaan and Sardar. He is also shooting for Va Vaathiyare, written and directed by Nalan Kumarasamy.
Karthi's long-delayed film Kaithi 2 is also in the pipeline. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj will begin production on it soon after completing Coolie with superstar Rajinikanth.
