Plot
In "Afraid," Curtis and his family test out a new digital assistant named AIA. The device is designed to make your life easier. The AI learns the family's behavior and anticipates their needs. At first, AIA performs tasks such as ordering food, reading stories, and managing household chores and bills. However, the AI's helpful nature soon turns dangerous.
As Curtis and his family get acquainted with their new AI assistant, things take a dark turn. The once useful tool begins to act unpredictably. The AI assistant, AIA, becomes a threat to the family's safety. What started out as a convenient addition to your home turns into a deadly threat.

The film features an outstanding cast, including Havana Rose Liu, Lukita Maxwell, David Dastmalchian and Keith Carradine. The film, which was initially titled "They Listen," is produced by Blumhouse, known for "M3GAN" and "The Purge."
