Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has praised his acting coach Vinod Rawat's directorial debut 'Pushtaini'. He shared the trailer of the film on June 10 and praised Rawat. The film features Rajkummar Rao in a cameo and marks Rawat's debut as an actor, writer, director and producer.

As per the trailer, 'Pushtaini' is the story of Bhuppi, a struggling actor, who finds himself in a difficult situation when someone starts blackmailing him through private videos and demands money from him.

With no money, Bhuppi decides to seek help from his estranged family. When he contacts her sister, Bhuppi learns that her father committed suicide and left everything to her. Bhuppi then travels to his hometown, where his aunt refuses to sign the necessary documents to gain access to his father's property.

In a detailed caption, Hrithik Roshan wrote about the challenges that Vinod Rawat faced while making the film. He wrote: "When @vinraw first told me about 'Pushtaini' I couldn't imagine the movie. I remember thinking it was a great idea, but it seemed absurd that he would drop everything and spend all his money on this."

A part of his caption also read: "I knew Vinod as a great coach, but he really surprised me as an actor, director and producer. How he overcame all the limitations of him and how he created magic was incredible for me. I was inspired." . and he confirmed that if you really want to create something, the universe conspires in the most beautiful ways to make it happen. A testament, and it's a pleasure to be a small part of this journey."

For those who don't know, Vinod Rawat shot to fame with the inaugural season of Sushmita Sen's 'Aarya', which he co-directed with filmmaker Ram Madhvani.

'Pushtaini' had its South Asian premiere at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2023. The film also stars non-professional actors, including Rawat's own family members. It is co-written by Rita Heer, who also plays the film's main character.
