Civil War 2024 iBomma: Release Date, Review, Filmy4wap

The country's energy, criminal and electoral dramas cannot cause one of the most powerful films of 2024 to go unnoticed in Ecuador. This is 'Civil War', which is based on the disturbing premise of seeing the United States, as it is now, mired in political violence and on the brink of disappearance.

It is not the first time that a United States disrupted by internal polarization has been proposed. We already saw it in some way in 'Amerika', that delicious miniseries from the 80s that depicted the defeat of that country before the Soviet Union and the rise of left-wing separatists.

And there is also 'The Second Civil War', by Joe Dante (1997), which focuses on the sensationalism of the media. And that element also exists in 'Civil War'.

Of course, it will be said that the United States emerged victorious and stronger from its 19th century civil war, the famous Civil War fought from 1861 to 1865. It is true. But in this new film, also known as 'Civil War', it is proposed that a more visceral exasperation could happen in the coming years due to the current polarization that exists in that nation.

'E Pluribus Unum' is the motto of the national emblem of the United States (technically, more than a shield, it is a seal). That is, 'One made up of many'. That union has always been the strength of that country. But what would happen if those many confront each other and take up arms, while the President opts for fascism and seeks a third term.

'Civil War', directed by the British Alex Garland, shows that all empires fall from the point of view of sensational journalists who seek to reach the White House. And Garland does it with force, mixing the classic road movie (here, the road becomes a character) with suspense, but slowly, without the vertigo of the action.

Perhaps the posters and trailer make the viewer believe that they will see a war movie, but that is not the case. It is rather a collection of absurd situations, almost macabre dialogues and twists that generate anxiety thanks to the immersive nature of the proposal.

The curious thing is that, despite everything, the director's critical eye is devoid of politics. He does not take sides with the belligerents. There are no good guys or villains. Perhaps he feels more critical of the media and raises the moral dilemmas of those journalists who cover tragedies. But it's very subtle. Let each one judge.

The invoice for 'Civil War' is irreproachable. The sound, music, photography and editing reinforce the sensations that the director seeks to convey. And the performances of Kirsten Dunst and Wagner Moura are at the height of this film, full of horror and tons of stress.
