Netflix has just shared the first images and release date of A Family Affair , a romantic comedy that you probably didn't imagine, but that you certainly won't want to miss.
And Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron meet again 12 years after filming The Newspaper Boy , but this time in a light, fun and comforting story that we can watch at any time.
Now, this isn't the typical rom-com you'd expect , in fact, it's pretty close to The Idea of Having You , only this time the main character isn't a musician but a movie star.
Thus, Netflix's A Family Affair tells us the story of a young assistant played by Joey King , who works for a famous actor (Efron) and whose life is completely turned upside down when she finds out that her mother (Kidman) She is dating none other than her boss.
According to the platform's synopsis, this romance will have "very comical consequences for the young woman, her mother and her boss as they face the complications of love, sex and identity."
As we said, it is not the plot that we usually see in rom-coms nor in those of Netflix in particular, which until recently had focused more on teenage love stories but which in the last year has been giving us more variety and recovered adult relationships.
At the moment the company has not published any trailer for the romantic comedy but has published some promotional photos, although this does not mean that we will have to wait long to see the film.
The film will be released on June 28 , so we will check if it manages to be not only the most viewed of the week, but also if it manages to surpass the figures of other films of the same genre that have been released in 2024, such as The Games of Love , An Irish wish or Wall to wall.
